Giada De Laurentiis eliminated from Dancing With the Stars season 35
Food Network chef Giada De Laurentiis and partner Alan Bersten were the third celebrity eliminated on the September 22 episode of ABC's Dancing With the Stars, receiving a 12-point score for their salsa.
Food Network star Giada De Laurentiis and professional dancer Alan Bersten were sent home during the September 22 episode of season 35 of Dancing With the Stars. Their salsa to Becky G’s “Chula” earned a 12 out of 30, tying with Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson for the lowest score of the night.
Eliminations are determined by a combination of judges’ scores and viewer votes, and Rodriguez remained in the competition due to higher audience support. After the announcement, De Laurentiis said, “I tried my best and it wasn’t best enough. But I tried my best.”
Judge Bruno Tonioli critiqued the performance, saying, “You gave me salsa without spice. That is a problem.” Carrie Ann Inaba summed up the routine in one word: “Shaky.”
The elimination follows the earlier departures of Conner Leavitt and Sarah Jane Nader during the season premiere. The episode also featured top scores of 21 points by three couples, including Jenna Dewan with Val Chmerkovskiy.
Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
