Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels sustains left-arm injury on final play of first half

Resumen

Jayden Daniels was injured on the last play of the first half, leaving his condition uncertain as the Cowboys held a 17-10 lead.

Jayden Daniels was carted to the X-ray room after he fell on his left elbow on the final play of the first half in the Commanders' game against the Dallas Cowboys. With three seconds remaining and the Commanders at the Dallas 1-yard line, Daniels took a snap, was stepped on by a lineman, and landed on his elbow before attempting a pass that fell incomplete.

The injury appeared serious; Daniels had previously dislocated the same elbow last season. Fox analyst Tom Brady, reacting to the replay, said, "Oh, shit... Excuse me. I was not expecting to see that."

Dallas led 10-0 and later 17-3 before Daniels threw a 4-yard touchdown to Stefon Diggs, cutting the deficit. The Cowboys scored on their first three possessions, while the Commanders outgained them 225 to 171 yards overall. Daniels completed 11 of 17 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown and added 69 rushing yards on seven carries. Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott was 15 of 19 for 155 yards with two touchdowns, connecting with CeeDee Lamb and Dalton Schultz.
