Ryan Blaney and Carson Hoevar clash after Bristol race incident

Resumen

After a late-race contact at Bristol, Ryan Blaney and Carson Hoevar were involved in a physical altercation on pit road, prompting comments from both drivers and reactions from the crowd.

Ryan Blaney and Carson Hoevar were involved in a post-race confrontation at Bristol Motor Speedway following a late-race incident that sent Blaney into the wall and ended his run in 33rd place. Blaney said he gave Hoevar space and that Hoevar did not lift, leading to the crash that damaged Blaney’s title hopes.

After the race, Blaney approached Hoevar in the infield care center, grabbed the younger driver’s firesuit and was punched twice, causing him to fall. The two were separated by officials and other crew members. Hoevar later told reporters he did not intend to wreck Blaney and suggested the crowd’s reaction encouraged his response.

"I just felt like he didn't lift, I left him plenty of room. I didn't chop him, didn't run him into the fence, nothing. I could have easily done that," Blaney said.

"I wasn't trying to wreck him, it just looked like I kind of ran left and he spun, so there wasn't a whole lot talking," Hoevar said.

Other drivers, including Ryan Preece and Ty Gibbs, were seen reacting to the scuffle, and Hoevar later warned that fines could hurt NASCAR’s ticket sales. The incident drew mixed reactions from fans, with Hoevar receiving cheers and Blaney facing boos as they left the venue.
