Week 3 NFL injury updates: key players listed as doubtful or out ahead of Sunday games
The NFL released final injury reports for Week 3, with notable absences including Sam Darnold, Puka Nacua, Nick Bosa and several others as teams prepare for Sunday matchups.
Sam Darnold is cleared to play for Seattle after missing the first two weeks with a glute injury. The Los Angeles Rams listed wide receiver Puka Nacua as doubtful with a hip/groin issue for the game against Denver, while San Francisco’s pass rusher Nick Bosa is expected to miss several weeks after pulling a calf in practice. Jaxson Dart underwent knee surgery following a season-ending injury and faces a 4-6 month recovery.
The Chargers will be without guard Kayode Awosika (fibula) and several other starters, and quarterback Trey Lance remains a question mark with a groin strain. Coach Jim Harbaugh said Trevor Penning will start at left guard in Awosika’s place. Bills coach Joe Brady noted that wide receivers Keon Coleman and DJ Moore are game-time decisions after limited practice.
Carolina’s linebacker Devin Lloyd, who earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week, is out with a calf injury. The Browns will miss offensive lineman Teven Jenkins for a third straight week, while both teams hope injured defensive backs can play.
In New York, the Jets list safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (groin) and linebacker Kiko Mauigoa (quad) as questionable, and the Lions are without safety Thomas Harper (ankle) and veteran corner Avonte Maddox, who suffered a season-ending injury.
Houston’s wideout Nico Collins is out with a hamstring strain, and veteran edge Jadeveon Clowney is sidelined with a knee injury. The Indianapolis Colts will be without wide receiver Alec Pierce (heel) and list cornerback Charvarius Ward as questionable.

The Tennessee Titans list cornerback Cor'Dale Flott (quad) as questionable, and the New York Giants have several defensive backs on the injury list, including Brian Burns (ankle) and Deonte Banks (calf).
Cincinnati’s wide receiver Andrei Iosivas is out with a thumb injury, and defensive tackle B.J. Hill is doubtful with an Achilles problem. Pittsburgh’s offensive line sees guard Gennings Dunker (knee) and running back Rico Dowdle (toe) out, while cornerback Joey Porter Jr. remains on the non-injured reserve list.
Seattle’s safety Julian Love (calf) is out and the Washington Commanders list quarterback Jayden Daniels (left elbow) among several injured players. Marcus Mariota is expected to start for Washington in Daniels’ absence.
San Francisco’s edge rusher Nick Bosa is out with a calf strain, and coach Kyle Shanahan said the team is considering placing him on injured reserve but does not expect a long absence.
Minnesota’s center Nick Samac (knee) is out, while Tampa Bay’s linebackers Rueben Bain Jr. (groin) and Josiah Trotter (shoulder) are listed as out.
New Orleans lists wide receiver Barion Brown (hamstring) and defensive lineman Christen Miller (toe) as out, with rookie tight end Brock Bowers (knee) remaining a questionable season debut.
