Converse removed a promotional image criticized for resembling Ku Klux Klan symbols and issued an apology, according to ABC News, while U. S. officials and civil-rights groups called for tighter corporate oversight. Earlier reports said the company had withdrawn two campaign images after users noted similarities to KKK hoods and lynching scenes, and it apologized, WWD reported.

The Cut added that a video featuring K-pop star Karina sparked condemnation from a U. S. lawmaker. The Independent and CNN also described the ad as reminiscent of KKK hoods and lynching imagery, and the brand pledged to avoid similar mistakes in the future.
