Macklemore's Tour Removal Sparks Dispute Among Celebrities and Lawyers
Macklemore was removed from Ed Sheeran's tour after comments on the Israel-Palestine conflict, prompting public statements from the rapper, the tour organizer, and legal representatives.
Macklemore was taken off Ed Sheeran's concert tour following remarks he made in support of Palestine during a performance in New Jersey. The rapper said on Instagram that a phone conversation with Sheeran revealed that NFL owner Robert Kraft had asked for his removal. Kraft responded that Macklemore had "crossed the line" with his comments.
Other NFL owners are reported to have supported Kraft's decision behind the scenes. Attorney Mark Geragos criticized Kraft, alleging that the owner coordinated with fellow team owners to silence the rapper. Media commentator Harvey Levin also commented on the controversy, describing Macklemore's past remarks as anti-Semitic and stating that Kraft was within his rights to disinvite the artist.
