Kirk family's wrongful-death claim hits Utah immunity hurdle
Fox News reported that the Kirk family's wrongful-death claim could be dismissed because Utah's broad government-immunity statute may shield the university and state officials from liability. The family had earlier filed a notice of claim accusing Utah Valley University, its police chief Jeffrey Long and other state officials of failing to provide adequate security, which they say contributed to Kirk's fatal shooting during a campus event.
