Hayden Panettiere's Mother and Ex-Boyfriend Excluded from Malibu Celebration of Life
Hayden Panettiere's memorial service in Malibu will proceed without her mother Lesley Vogel, ex-partner Brian Hickerson, or his brother, according to sources.
A memorial service for actress Hayden Panettiere is scheduled for Saturday in Malibu, with about 150 relatives, friends and former colleagues expected to attend. Reports indicate that Panettiere's mother, Lesley Vogel, 70, and her former boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, 37, as well as Hickerson's brother Zach, were not included on the guest list. Panettiere's father is anticipated to be present at the ceremony held at a local church, a location chosen because of the actress's affection for the ocean and marine life.
Panettiere, 36, died on August 16 in Greenville, South Carolina, after emergency responders were called to her apartment. An autopsy report released the following day noted no signs of trauma, while law-enforcement sources have suggested a fentanyl-contaminated oxycodone pill may have been involved. Her representative has said the investigation remains ongoing and toxicology results are pending, and no official cause of death has been determined.
When approached at a gas station in Greenville on September 16, Hickerson responded to inquiries about his well-being with a brief remark, "How do you think I'm doing?" and added, "Appreciate it. That's all I got for you, man."
