Lions' Week 2 Snap Counts Reveal Shifts After Bills Loss
Pride Of Detroit reported that the Detroit Lions' snap counts in Week 2, compiled after their loss to the Buffalo Bills, showed an increased workload for quarterback Jared Goff and several defensive players, reflecting injuries and early-season adjustments. The Lions opened the 2026 season with a 31-30 overtime victory over the New Orleans Saints, a game highlighted by Jahmyr Gibbs' career-high 156 rushing yards and a defensive line that recorded five sacks.
Subsequent analysis of snap distribution from that win revealed heavy usage of key defensive personnel and a flexible offensive lineup. The team later held off a Saints comeback to win 21-20 in overtime before traveling to Buffalo for their Week 2 matchup.
