El-Sayed leads Michigan Senate race as voters seek to curb Trump
A September poll reported by USA Today showed Democrat Abdul El-Sayed leading Republican Mike Rogers in the Michigan U. S. Senate race, with many voters saying they wanted to curb President Trump’s direction. Earlier, conservative commentators raised national-security concerns about El-Sayed’s potential access to classified information, citing past associations with extremist sympathizers, according to Fox News.
The Detroit News endorsed Rogers, criticizing El-Sayed for deleting past social-media posts, Fox News reported. El-Sayed also faced questions in a solo debate after Rogers declined to attend, where he addressed his ties to streamer Hasan Piker, his stance on Israel and campaign funding, Fox News said. Former Fox host Tucker Carlson endorsed El-Sayed, calling Rogers unfit and defending El-Sayed against accusations of anti-American sentiment, as noted by The Independent.
