Steelers place rookie cornerback Joey Porter Jr. on PUP list amid contract dispute

体育

The Pittsburgh Steelers placed rookie cornerback Joey Porter Jr. on the physically unable to perform list after a practice back injury, intensifying a contract dispute that has lingered since early September, TribLive. com reported. Porter had been listed as questionable for the September 13 game against the Atlanta Falcons because of the injury, and the team indicated it might consider trading him, NBC Sports said.

The Detroit Lions later entered trade talks, si. com noted, while contract negotiations stalled, NBC Sports reported. The Steelers subsequently said no serious trade interest had materialized, but later acknowledged at least one inquiry, NBC Sports added.
