Arch Manning leads Texas to 24-23 comeback win over Ohio State
Texas quarterback Arch Manning threw for 195 yards as the Longhorns rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat Ohio State 24-23, avenging a loss from the previous season.
Texas rallied from a 20-point deficit to edge Ohio State 24-23 on Saturday night, with quarterback Arch Manning completing 23 of 37 passes for 195 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The Longhorns scored three fourth-quarter touchdowns to overturn a 23-3 hole and secure the victory.
"I couldn’t lose to them again. I had nightmares about that game last year. So, we’re glad to win tonight," Manning said on the field after the game.
At the post-game press conference, Manning explained his motivation, noting he did not want another home loss to Ohio State and emphasized the need to execute in the final minutes. He added, "It wasn’t very pretty, but we found a way to win. That’s what good teams do."
The win marks a significant turnaround for Manning, who entered the season as a top Heisman candidate and a potential first-overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft. The victory also serves as redemption for the Longhorns after a previous season-opening loss to the Buckeyes.
