Summary

Deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department investigated a report of an unidentified woman who entered the grounds of former Vice President Kamala Harris’s Malibu residence, but she left without being arrested.

Los Angeles sheriff's deputies responded around 10:30 p.m. Friday to a call about an unidentified woman who had been dropped off by a rideshare service near the Malibu property owned by former Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff. Security personnel told the woman she could not remain on the premises, and she left, but returned later, prompting a second call to law enforcement.

Police took a report at the scene; the woman did not enter the house and voluntarily departed when asked by deputies. No arrest or citation was issued. Harris’s spokesperson, Eduardo Negrón, said the former vice president and her husband were not at the home at the time and thanked the security and law-enforcement staff for their swift response.

Lt. Jason Duron of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station said his unit would increase patrols in the area and continue monitoring the location. The property, purchased by Harris in January for $8.15 million, includes a heated pool, spa, fire pit and gated entry.
