Holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy trial retains attorney linked to Nolan Wells case

Résumé

The sole juror who refused to acquit Lindsay Clancy has hired attorney Edward Andrew Paltzik, who also represents friends of Nolan Wells, amid ongoing public scrutiny.

The only juror who declined to join the majority in finding Lindsay Clancy not criminally responsible for the deaths of her three children has retained New England lawyer Edward Andrew Paltzik. Paltzik announced that he is now representing the juror, whose identity remains sealed by the court following a mistrial.

"My client is a courageous and heroic American and a champion of justice," Paltzik said, adding that he will protect the juror from public attacks.

The attorney said the juror is being kept at an undisclosed secure location in rural northern New England and that his primary concern is the juror's health, safety and well-being. The juror has faced intense scrutiny after the trial ended, with some former jurors describing his deliberation style as difficult and alleging he did not properly apply the reasonable-doubt standard.

Media reports indicated the juror was previously accused of domestic violence in 2021; the charge was later dismissed, though a restraining order involving a family member was reportedly still in effect when he was selected for the case.

Paltzik warned that no official GoFundMe or GiveSendGo campaigns have been authorized to raise money for the juror, labeling any such pages as fraudulent. He also represents Warren Hudson, Jax Pitalo and Morgan Seymour in a separate matter related to the death of Nolan Wells, stating in a prior statement that the three men are "completely innocent" of any involvement.
