Myles Garrett to Undergo Knee Surgery, Placed on Injured Reserve
Rams defensive end Myles Garrett will have knee surgery and be moved to injured reserve, leaving the team without him for several weeks as they face a challenging schedule.
Defensive end Myles Garrett is scheduled to undergo knee surgery and will be placed on the Los Angeles Rams' injured reserve list, according to multiple reports. The move follows the Rams' recent loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne and Garrett's own comments about his health affecting his play.
Garrett's absence comes as the Rams entered the season as early favorites to contend for the Super Bowl after his signing in June, a move that also prompted Aaron Donald to return from retirement. Donald is expected to be available for at least four games, potentially starting in Week 2, but will play without Garrett.
The Rams face a demanding stretch of games, hosting the New York Giants on Monday night, traveling to Denver to play the Broncos the following Sunday, then heading to Philadelphia for a matchup with the Eagles, and concluding the sequence with a home game against the Buffalo Bills and quarterback Josh Allen.
"We are focused on getting Myles the best care and getting him back as soon as possible," a team spokesperson said.
