Aaron Rodgers Discusses Past Relationships on Podcast

Resumen

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers spoke about his former relationships with Shailene Woodley and Danica Patrick during a podcast appearance, offering his perspective on the breakups and responding to the women's statements.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers used an appearance on teammate Cam Heyward’s podcast to address his past relationships with actress Shailene Woodley and former race-car driver Danica Patrick. When asked what people misunderstand about him, Rodgers said he had been criticized for how his former partners described their breakups.

Rodgers claimed he proposed to Woodley in late 2020 and that she later ended the engagement, saying she wanted to be with someone else. He said the relationship ended without mutual intimacy and that counseling was attempted but ultimately failed. Regarding Patrick, Rodgers described the relationship as lacking intimacy and said they broke up in July 2020 after disagreements about purchasing a home.

"She tells a story that, ‘I was so blindsided by getting left by you, and he leaves a trail of blood around.’ I’m like, what are you talking about? That is not what happened by any means," Rodgers said, disputing Patrick’s claim that the relationship was emotionally abusive.

Woodley has previously described the relationship as “not right but beautiful,” noting a traumatic event in early 2022 without directly linking it to Rodgers. Patrick has called the relationship emotionally abusive and said it left her feeling broken.

Rodgers also mentioned his current marriage to a woman he met in 2017, stating he regrets not proposing to her earlier. The discussion highlighted differing accounts of the past relationships and Rodgers’ view that media attention surrounding the breakups was driven by the women’s fame.
