Wisconsin DNR Confirms Over 1,100 Deer Deaths in EHD Outbreak

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources confirmed that at least 1,100 white-tailed deer have died from epizootic hemorrhagic disease, marking the largest recorded outbreak in the state. Earlier, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources reported the first EHD cases of the year in white-tailed deer in four Michigan counties and asked residents to report sick or dead animals. The Missouri Department of Conservation also urged the public to report any sightings of the disease, noting it is spread by gnats and poses no risk to humans.
