Zab Judah Says Conor Benn Misled Observers Ahead of Garcia Fight
Former champion Zab Judah claimed Conor Benn staged a deceptive weigh-in before his bout with Ryan Garcia, and predicted the match would end in a knockout.
Former world champion Zab Judah said Conor Benn appeared to use psychological tactics during the ceremonial weigh-in before his upcoming fight with WBC welterweight champion Ryan Garcia at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Judah told Fight Hub TV that Benn’s video presentation gave the impression of a severe weight cut, but the fighter looked "sharp and strong" when he stepped on the scale, weighing 146 pounds, while Garcia was 145.5 pounds.
Judah declined to forecast a winner, but suggested the bout is unlikely to go the full twelve rounds. He advised Garcia to box from the outside and land combinations, and urged Benn to press the action and stay close, adding that he expects a knockout outcome.
The fight follows Garcia’s earlier victory over Mario Barrios to claim the WBC welterweight title, and Benn’s return to the division after competing at higher weights since 2022.
