Apple postpones two iOS 27 features to a later update

Resumen

Apple confirmed that the Messages suggestions and automatic password-change functions will not be included in the iOS 27 release on September 14 and will arrive in a future software update.

Apple announced that iOS 27 will be rolled out to all supported devices on Monday, September 14. The company also said that two features demonstrated in recent beta versions – contextual suggestions in the Messages app and an automatic password-change capability – have been removed from the final release and will be added in a later software update.

The Messages suggestions feature was intended to let users create reminders, notes or calendar entries directly from a conversation. The automatic password-change function, described by Apple as a way for the Passwords app to detect weak or compromised passwords and update them without user intervention, was also pulled from the iOS 27 beta.

Apple updated its website to reflect the change, noting that the postponement applies across its platforms, including iPadOS 27 and macOS 27. No timeline has been provided for when the two features will be reintroduced.

"The Passwords app alerts you to weak or compromised passwords and can update them on your behalf without the hassle," Apple’s product description reads.

The company did not offer further details on the future rollout of the delayed functionalities.
