Egyptian TV Host Sarah Khalifa Appeals Death Sentence in Drug Case
Television presenter Sarah Khalifa filed an appeal with Egypt's Felony Appeals Court against the death sentence imposed for her involvement in a synthetic drug network, according to Euronews. com.
The court may uphold, reduce or overturn the penalty under the 2024 criminal procedure reforms. The appeal follows a ruling by a Cairo criminal court that sentenced Khalifa and eleven co-defendants to death and handed life terms to nine others for participation in an organized drug-manufacturing gang.
