Conflicting reports emerge over wrestler Andy Williams' condition after collapse
Wrestler Andy Williams collapsed at an Enjoy Wrestling event and was taken to hospital, but sources differ on whether he has died, with the promotion denying death claims made by a wrestling podcaster.
Andy Williams, known as The Butcher, collapsed at the end of his match during Enjoy Wrestling's Five Years show at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale, Pennsylvania, on September 5. Staff doctors performed CPR until an ambulance arrived, and the event was halted while attendees were sent home.
Wrestling podcaster Famous Davis later reported that Williams had died at Allegheny General Hospital, saying the wrestler's next of kin had been notified and an autopsy would be conducted after the Labor Day holiday.
Enjoy Wrestling responded on September 6 with a direct denial, posting a brief statement that the claim was false and later deleting the tweet. The promotion said members of its staff were at the hospital awaiting further information.
As of now, no official confirmation of Williams' condition has been released by his family, the hospital, or a medical examiner. Ringside News noted the lack of definitive information and said it will continue to monitor the situation.
