Chainsmokers criticized after 14 hospitalized at San Jose concert
On 9 September, San Jose police said 14 concertgoers were hospitalized after the Chainsmokers' outdoor performance at Discovery Meadow on 3 September, and the duo drew criticism for downplaying the incidents on social media. The police report noted that emergency crews treated the patients on site before transporting them to local hospitals.
Earlier coverage by Rolling Stone and the New York Post confirmed the hospitalizations and linked them to suspected alcohol and drug use. A month earlier, a Chainsmokers show in Palm Springs on 9 August had also resulted in several injuries after bottles were thrown, highlighting a pattern of safety concerns at the duo's events.
