Jury in Lindsay Clancy Murder Trial Reports Second Deadlock
The jurors in the Lindsay Clancy case announced a second inability to reach a verdict, prompting the judge to order further deliberations.
A jury in the murder trial of former Massachusetts labor and delivery nurse Lindsay Clancy reported to the judge on Wednesday that it could not reach a verdict for the second time. The judge responded by issuing a standard instruction and sending the panel back to continue deliberations, marking the fifth day of discussion.
Clancy has not contested the allegation that she strangled her three children in their home in 2023. Her defense maintains that postpartum psychosis influenced her actions, while prosecutors assert she acted knowingly.
During the proceedings, Clancy remained expressionless while members of her family in the gallery showed no visible reaction.
"The jury has been instructed to keep deliberating and consider all aspects of the case," the judge said.
The trial will continue as the jurors attempt to reach a consensus.
