Hollywood Walk of Fame installs replacement Dolly Parton star after vandalism
A replacement star honoring Dolly Parton was installed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on September 4, after the original plaque was vandalized a week after her death on August 28. The Hollywood Historic Trust carried out the work, and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said the singer’s family was not involved.
The star had been slated for replacement due to cracks when, a week after Parton’s passing at age 80, scratches were reported on the plaque. The Hollywood Chamber announced plans to replace the star, and the Hollywood Historic Trust began repairs, with fans gathering to lay flowers at the site.
