Dolly Parton Receives Replacement Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame After Vandalism
A newly installed star honoring Dolly Parton was unveiled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after the original was defaced, with fans gathering to lay flowers at the site.
A replacement star for country music legend Dolly Parton was installed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday evening following the vandalism of her original marker. Fans assembled at the site, placing flowers and paying tribute to the singer, who died earlier this week. The original star had been scratched, prompting authorities to replace it with a new plaque bearing her name.
BBC correspondent Shaimaa Khalil reported on the gathering, noting the somber atmosphere as admirers honored Parton's legacy. No arrests have been reported in connection with the damage to the star.
The Walk of Fame, a landmark honoring notable figures in entertainment, has previously faced incidents of vandalism, but the swift replacement underscores the city's commitment to preserving its cultural symbols.
