Apple Watch Ultra 4 and Series 12 feature doubled RAM, according to developer tools
Apple's latest Watch models, the Ultra 4 and Series 12, are reported to have 4 GB of RAM—twice the memory of the prior generation—based on data from Xcode, a detail not disclosed by the company.
Apple introduced two new smartwatch models, the Apple Watch Series 12 and the Apple Watch Ultra 4, with pre-orders opening recently. While Apple highlighted upgrades such as a new health-tracking system and the S11 processor, developer tools have revealed that both devices are equipped with 4 GB of RAM, double the 2 GB found in the previous Ultra 3 and Series 11 models.
The memory specification was identified through Xcode 27, which provides developers with hardware details that Apple does not typically publish for its watches. The increased RAM is expected to support the upcoming watchOS 27 and its AI-related features.
"The S11 chip brings the first meaningful performance upgrade on Apple Watch in years," a source familiar with the launch materials said.
Apple has not formally announced the RAM increase in its public communications.
