Falcons quarterback hopeful Tua Tagovailoa linked to Instagram burner comment
Tua Tagovailoa's Instagram post featuring a self-praise comment from a secondary account has drawn attention as he competes for a roster spot with the Atlanta Falcons.
Atlanta Falcons quarterback candidates are under scrutiny after a recent Instagram post showed former Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa posting a photo in a Falcons uniform accompanied by a supportive comment from the handle @tuaman. The comment, which read “We’re so proud of you!! You got this,” was later attributed to his wife, Anna Tagovailoa, suggesting a possible mix-up between personal accounts.
Social-media users noted the incident, with some remarks mocking the use of a secondary account. The post occurred as Tagovailoa participates in the Falcons' training camp, where coaches have not yet confirmed a starting quarterback for the opening game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. NFL Network reports that his camp performance has not secured him the starter role, and the team is also evaluating Michael Penix Jr., who is recovering from a torn ACL.
Tagovailoa was released by the Dolphins after the 2025 season and is now seeking a position with Atlanta. The outcome of the quarterback competition remains undecided ahead of Week 1.
