Broncos finalize 17-man practice squad after roster cuts

Resumen

The Denver Broncos announced a 17-player practice squad for the 2026 season, composed entirely of players from their recent 91-man roster, including International Pathway participant David Agoha.

The Denver Broncos reduced their roster to 53 players and filled a 17-member practice squad for the 2026 regular season. All but one of the practice-squad members were on the team's 91-man offseason roster, with the exception of edge rusher David Agoha, who joins as the International Pathway Program player and the squad's 17th man.

"David Agoha is a 6-4, 252-pound edge rusher from Nigeria who has spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders and Tennessee Titans," the team’s announcement noted.

Veteran fullback Adam Prentice, who scored multiple preseason touchdowns, and long snapper Mitchell Fraboni were also added, each eligible for up to three elevations before a possible promotion to the active roster in Week 4. The squad includes a second long snapper, Luke Basso, providing additional flexibility for special-teams assignments.

Wide receiver Michael Bandy returns for a third stint on the Broncos’ practice squad, offering depth at the slot and punt-return positions. Tight end Lucas Krull remains after rookie Justin Joly was waived, while wide receiver/kick returner Kolbe Katsis and younger receiver Dane Key add further options in the passing and return games.

Offensive line depth is bolstered by Calvin Throckmorton, who can play multiple line positions, undrafted tackle Tyler Miller, and versatile lineman Gavin Ortega, who has seen time at guard and center. Defensive depth includes edge rusher Johnny Walker, linebacker Red Murdock, and safety Miles Scott, a seventh-round rookie who transitioned from receiver to safety in college.

Running back Cody Schrader, who posted over 130 yards in the preseason finale, and cornerback/kick returner Sean Fresch Jr. round out the squad, providing additional talent for both offensive and special-teams situations.
