AMC Theatres in Philadelphia area schedule Dolly Parton film screenings
AMC locations in the Philadelphia region will show Dolly Parton's movies "Steel Magnolias" and "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" through Sept. 2 as a tribute following her death.
AMC theatres in the Philadelphia suburbs will present two of Dolly Parton's most recognized films as part of a tribute series running from Friday through Sept. 2. The screenings include "Steel Magnolias" and "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," both of which feature the singer-songwriter in supporting roles. The participating venues are AMC Cherry Hill 24, AMC Neshaminy 24 and AMC Voorhees 16. Parton, who died on Tuesday at age 80 after a brief illness, was known for both her music career and her work in Hollywood, where she debuted in the 1980 comedy "9 to 5" and earned a Golden Globe nomination for her lead role in "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas." In "Steel Magnolias" she appeared alongside Sally Field, Julia Roberts and Shirley MacLaine.
