Jake, a local news reporter, discussed the impact of his parents' deaths in an interview with KABC-TV, noting that his brother Nick Reiner has been indicted on two counts of first-degree murder and has pleaded not guilty.
"My parents had unconditional love for all three of us," Jake said, adding that they continued to support Nick despite his struggles with drug addiction.
Nick Reiner remains incarcerated at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles and is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on Sept. 15. If convicted, he faces either the death penalty or life imprisonment without parole. The couple's relationship details, including how they met, have not been disclosed.
