Caitlin Clark leads Indiana Fever to 113-90 win over Chicago Sky
Caitlin Clark scored a career-high 37 points as the Indiana Fever defeated the Chicago Sky 113-90, eliminating Chicago from playoff contention.
Caitlin Clark posted 37 points, including a career-high eight three-pointers, and added 10 assists as the Indiana Fever pulled away from the Chicago Sky for a 113-90 victory on Sunday night. Kelsey Mitchell contributed 30 points, and the Fever used a 13-2 run in the third quarter to extend their lead to 71-60. Lexi Hull added a reverse layup that made the score 97-82, finishing with 14 points, while Makayla Timpson scored 12.
Chicago's Natasha Cloud recorded 16 points and seven assists, and Azura Stevens added 14 points and eight rebounds, but the loss eliminated the Sky from the playoff race after Washington won later that night. The Fever played without center Aliyah Boston, who missed the game with a right-leg injury after scoring 22 points in the previous loss to New York.
The matchup was the first meeting between the teams since a hard foul by DiJonai Carrington on Indiana guard Sophie Cunningham in August. Former NBA players Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White, who have declared eligibility for the WNBA draft, were present; Freedom was ejected in the third quarter after an encounter with Cloud.
Indiana will host the Connecticut Sun on Friday, while Chicago is scheduled to visit Connecticut on Tuesday.
