Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty diagnosed with sprained ankle
Raiders rookie running back Ashton Jeanty suffered a sprained ankle during practice, with the team uncertain about the length of his absence but indicating it is not a long-term injury.
Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty required assistance leaving the practice field on Sunday after injuring his right leg. ESPN reporter Adam Schefter said doctors diagnosed the injury as a sprained ankle, though it is not yet known whether it is a high- or low-ankle sprain and the team has not determined how many games he may miss. The injury is not considered long-term. Jeanty, the No. 6 overall pick in the 2025 draft, is expected to be a key component of Las Vegas’ offense in 2026 under new head coach Klint Kubiak. In his rookie season, he appeared in 17 games, accumulating 1,321 yards from scrimmage — 975 rushing and 346 receiving on 55 catches — and scored 10 touchdowns.
