Angel Reese Sets WNBA Single-Game and Season Rebounding Records in Dream Victory

Summary

Angel Reese recorded 26 rebounds, breaking the league's single-game record and surpassing the season total record as Atlanta defeated Los Angeles 78-71.

Angel Reese captured 26 rebounds for the Atlanta Dream on Monday night, eclipsing Chamique Holdsclaw's 2003 single-game record of 24. Her total of 458 rebounds also overtook A’ja Wilson's 2024 season mark, giving her the league lead with six games left in the regular season.

Reese contributed 11 points and secured her 27th double-double of the year with a basket in the final seconds. Teammate Allisha Gray praised her rebounding ability, saying, "I’m just in awe watching her rebound. That's a talent."

Atlanta, now 25-13, extended its winning streak to four games, all on the road, and pulled ahead with decisive runs in the third and fourth quarters to finish 78-71. Gray led the team with 20 points and set an Atlanta franchise record for field goals in a season with 247. Rhyne Howard added 18 points, reaching 3,000 career points, while Los Angeles' Nneka Ogwumike posted 27 points and 16 rebounds despite the Sparks' ninth consecutive loss in the series.

The Dream will host Portland on Friday, while the Sparks host Washington the same day.
