Zelenskyy says Ukraine has received additional Patriot, Crotale and AIM missiles after Kyiv summit
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukraine has received new missiles for Patriot, Crotale and AIM air-defence systems following agreements made at the Coalition of the Willing summit in Kyiv.
Ukraine has taken delivery of extra missiles for its U.S.-made Patriot air-defence system, several French-origin Crotale systems with accompanying missiles, and Russian-made AIM missiles, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a meeting with Estonian President Alar Karis in Kyiv. The supplies were secured at the Coalition of the Willing summit held in the Ukrainian capital and are intended to bolster the country's ability to protect its airspace against Russian missile and drone attacks.
"We received— I won’t say from which country— confirmation of the transfer of several Crotale air defence systems and missiles for them. And we also received AIM missiles. These are very important missiles for us; we use them to shoot down enemy missiles," Zelenskyy told reporters.
"And, to be honest, I also won’t say from which country, but a few more missiles for Patriot have arrived. I can’t say how many, but a few. We need more," he added.
The president also noted that coalition members pledged targeted assistance to specific Ukrainian regions and sectors, citing support from Belgium and Denmark for the Mykolaiv direction and Estonia for Zhytomyr. Belgium and Germany announced energy-sector aid, while Sweden said it would provide a financial package to support Ukrainian drone production.
The new deliveries come as Kyiv continues to seek hundreds of PAC-2 and PAC-3 interceptors, amid concerns that European partners have limited stockpiles of such munitions ahead of a potential increase in Russian strikes during the winter.
