New York grandmother missing in Las Vegas found dead after two-week search
Police say the body of 63-year-old Alisa Goods was discovered in a drainage ditch near the airport, ending a nearly two-week missing-person investigation.
Las Vegas police confirmed that the body of 63-year-old Aliza Goods, who vanished in early August, was found in a drainage ditch near Wayne Newton Boulevard and the Terminal 1 parking area at Harry Reid International Airport. Surveillance footage from August 8 showed Goods falling down an embankment, standing up briefly and then collapsing, with no further movement recorded. The discovery ends a search that began after she was last seen near a CVS pharmacy at the intersection of Harmon and Paradise.
Goods’ family announced her death in a GoFundMe post, noting the fundraiser was created to cover investigative costs, travel and lodging. Her daughter, Kristen Goods, expressed profound sadness, saying the family now faces the painful reality of saying goodbye and arranging memorials.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the location of the body could not be seen from the street and that the call reporting the deceased woman was received on Thursday.
