Sex toys thrown onto court cause interruptions in WNBA games in Chicago and Los Angeles
Objects resembling sex toys were tossed onto the playing surface during a Chicago Sky game and a Los Angeles Sparks game, prompting delays and a police detention in Los Angeles.
Objects resembling sex toys were thrown onto the court during the Chicago Sky's home game against the Golden State Valkyries, causing a pause in the third quarter of the Sky's 73-70 win. Arena staff cleared the items while players remained on the floor.
A similar disruption occurred the previous night in Los Angeles, where a Sparks game against Atlanta was delayed for the same reason. Police said a male suspect was detained by arena security, issued a citation and then released.
The incidents echo a series of comparable interruptions that took place last season in Atlanta, New York and Los Angeles, some of which led to arrests.
