Arsenal Favoured Ahead of 2026-27 Premier League Season as Teams Ranked
A sports outlet ranked all 20 Premier League clubs for the 2026-27 campaign, placing Arsenal at the top and highlighting key transfers and managerial changes across the league.
A new Premier League season will begin on Friday night at the Emirates, and a recent ranking placed Arsenal as the leading contender for the 2026-27 campaign. The list evaluated each of the 20 clubs, noting recent spending, managerial appointments and squad changes.
Hull City, returning for a third top-flight stint, have invested over £80 million this summer but are expected to fight relegation. Ipswich Town, now under Gary O’Neil after Kieran McKenna’s departure, also face a difficult survival battle despite new signings such as Daizen Maeda. Coventry City, promoted for the first time since 2001, will need a strong effort from Frank Lampard’s side to avoid an immediate drop.
Fulham will start the season with Álvaro Arbeloa as manager after Marco Silva left for Benfica, while Crystal Palace have appointed Pierre Sage following Oliver Glasner’s exit. Leeds United aim to avoid a second-season slump, relying on players like James Trafford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Newcastle United face a rebuilding phase after losing several key players and manager Eddie Howe; Matthias Jaissle takes over the role. Sunderland, after a surprise top-ten finish last season, will target European qualification but must prioritize league survival. Bournemouth, now led by Marco Rose, will balance domestic and European commitments.
Everton’s campaign is expected to be steady but unspectacular after a disappointing finish and the departure of Jack Grealish. Nottingham Forest’s owner Evangelos Marinakis has appointed Oliver Glasner, hoping for a strong start that could push the club toward a top-eight finish. Brentford, under Keith Andrews, look to consolidate a top-nine position achieved last season.
Brighton, with recent departures, remain well-equipped for a possible fourth Conference League title. Aston Villa, after significant squad turnover, will rely on manager Unai Emery to integrate new players. Tottenham Hotspur have spent heavily on new signings, giving Roberto De Zerbi a stronger squad to improve on recent low finishes.
Chelsea will be guided by new manager Xabi Alonso, who has already altered the club’s transfer strategy. Liverpool, after a mixed previous season, will see Andoni Iraola take charge following the dismissal of Arne Slot. Manchester United have addressed midfield needs with targeted signings and aim for a top-three finish.
Manchester City will see Enzo Maresca replace Pep Guardiola, inheriting a squad that has undergone significant changes, including the exits of Rodri, Tijjani Reijnders and Nathan Aké. The club has added Elliot Anderson but will require further reinforcement to maintain its standards.
Arsenal, having secured their first league title since 2004, are viewed as the team to beat heading into the new season.
