Chartered Cessna Crash Near Alaska Radar Site Claims Eight Lives

BBC reported that the civilian-chartered Cessna 441 that crashed near the Cape Newenham Long-Range Radar Site on 20 August killed all eight occupants, including two U. S. Army Corps of Engineers employees.

CNN had earlier reported that the Security Aviation-operated aircraft went down while attempting to land at Cape Newenham Airport, killing the two pilots and six passengers on board. The FAA, Alaskan Command and the Alaska Rescue Coordination Center launched search and rescue operations, and the NTSB opened an investigation.
