Driver Charged After Crash Kills Two Milligan Cyclists
A 69-year-old driver was charged with vehicular homicide and aggravated assault on August 20 after his vehicle struck a Milligan University cycling team on U. S. Highway 19E near Simerly Creek in Carter County, Tennessee, killing two students and injuring several teammates.
The collision occurred on August 19 when the driver’s car hit the cyclists traveling on the highway. Two sophomore cyclists were killed and seven teammates were injured, with the injured transported to Johnson City Medical Center, some by air ambulance.
