Brother of Hayden Panettiere's Partner Says Narcan Was Administered Before Her Death

Summary

Zach Hickerson, brother of Brian Hickerson, told media that he and his brother gave Narcan and performed CPR on Hayden Panettiere after finding her unresponsive in a Greenville, South Carolina Airbnb.

Zach Hickerson said he and his brother, Brian Hickerson, found actress Hayden Panettiere unconscious in a townhouse Airbnb in Greenville, South Carolina, on Sunday morning. He called 911 and reported that Brian administered Narcoban before the two performed CPR together while emergency services were on speaker. First responders later arrived and attempted resuscitation, but Panettiere was pronounced dead.

A heavily redacted incident report from the Greenville Police Department confirms that first responders discussed a possible overdose and that a Narcan bottle was present at the scene. The report also notes that Brian Hickerson became emotional and presented a bag of medication he said belonged to Panettiere.

"There are a lot of assumptions, speculations and accusations currently swirling. The truth will come out as the authorities complete and release additional details from the investigation," Hickerson said in a statement to the media.

Zach Hickerson added that he had attended a church service earlier that day and had been in contact with both Brian and Panettiere before traveling to the Airbnb. He said he could not enter the residence initially because he lacked the door code, but a knock on the door awakened his brother and led to the discovery of Panettiere's condition.

Police records released this week provide limited details, and the investigation remains ongoing.
