Taylor Swift said she was shocked and saddened by the death of actress Hayden Panettiere, with whom she shared a friendly relationship while living in the same Nashville apartment complex.
Taylor Swift said she was shocked and saddened by the recent death of actress Hayden Panettiere, who died at age 36 in South Carolina. The two had known each other from 2012 to 2015 when both lived at The Adelicia, a Nashville apartment building, while Panettiere filmed the television series "Nashville" and Swift owned a penthouse there.
A source familiar with their relationship told Page Six that the two were friendly neighbors and often crossed paths at events, including the Teen Choice Awards in July 2012. Panettiere recalled that Swift once helped her obtain a guitar for a songwriting session, and Swift mentioned Panettiere in a 2012 interview, noting their neighborly connection.
Panettiere was found unresponsive at an Airbnb in Greenville, South Carolina, and emergency responders were unable to revive her. Authorities have not yet released a definitive cause of death pending toxicology results. Her father, Skip Panettiere, released a statement expressing grief and requesting privacy for the family. Hayden Panettiere is survived by her daughter, Kaya, and her parents.
