Senator Ossoff Criticizes Trump Over Iran Policy and Close Ties to Aide Natalie Harp
Georgia Democrat Jon Ossoff accused President Donald Trump of neglecting his duties on Iran and highlighted the president's frequent association with aide Natalie Harp.
Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) said President Donald Trump is focusing on personal projects and travel with aide Natalie Harp rather than addressing the war in Iran. Ossoff added, "He doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar."
Reports indicate Trump swapped aircraft in Turkey last month after a security concern, boarding a different plane and later traveling to the United Kingdom on a military jet. Natalie Harp, in her mid-30s, was among a small group accompanying Trump on the flight.
According to a recent book and a profile in The New York Times, Harp maintains frequent communication with Trump, drafting letters and preparing his social-media posts. Her brother, Preston Harp, described the relationship as "very unhealthy" in an interview with The Daily Mail.
Ossoff’s remarks have drawn attention to the president’s reliance on close aides and his handling of foreign policy matters.
