Veteran pass rusher Von Miller signs with Dallas Cowboys
Former Washington Commanders linebacker Von Miller has joined the Dallas Cowboys, citing personal ties to the area and aiming to replicate his prior season’s sack production.
Veteran linebacker Von Miller signed with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, returning to the region where he grew up. Miller, a native of DeSoto, Texas, told the Nightcap Show that the Cowboys were the first team to contact him before training camp and that the move felt natural because his family resides in the area. He recalled early memories of watching the Cowboys as a child and expressed enthusiasm about playing for the team again.
Miller, who recorded nine sacks for the Washington Commanders last season, said he expects to produce a similar level of pass-rush performance in Dallas, adding that achieving eight to ten sacks would be “just walking in.”
He also commented on his fit within the Cowboys’ locker room, stating that he has a reputation as a reliable teammate and that no former teammate has criticized him. Miller, who has previously played for the Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills and the Commanders, said he remains motivated as he begins his fifth NFL team.
“I’m excited to be here, I’m excited to get started,” Miller said.
