Court records released on 17 August show that 19-year-old Camron Harris, the suspect in the Virginia State University shooting, had discussed the attack in Instagram messages before carrying it out, authorities said. The shooting occurred on 15 August near the university’s Quad Annexes, wounding five people and prompting a campus lockdown. Police later located Harris hiding in a dormitory closet, arrested him and charged him with eight felonies, including multiple firearm offenses.
