Marvel Shows Second Trailer for Avengers: Doomsday at D23
Marvel Studios released a new two-minute trailer for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday at Disney's D23 convention, confirming a large ensemble cast and a December 18 theatrical release.
Marvel Studios presented a second trailer for the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday during Disney's D23 fan convention on Friday. The two-minute preview features Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, alongside Chris Evans as Captain America and Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, with Vanessa Kirby’s Invisible Woman warning the heroes about Doom's threat.
The clip shows Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards confronting Doom, and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor attempting to strike Doom before the villain deflects the attack and unleashes a green energy blast. Doom then summons a group of Sentinels, classic X-Men adversaries, and declares, > "Hell answers to me, for I am Doom."
The trailer reiterates the ensemble nature of the movie, bringing together characters from the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts and the X-Men roster. It also marks Robert Downey Jr.'s return to the MCU after his previous character's death in Avengers: Endgame. The cast includes returning actors such as Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd, Letitia Wright, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston and Simu Liu, as well as the Fantastic Four team portrayed by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
Additional members of the Thunderbolts appear, including Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Lewis Pullman, Wyatt Russell and Hannah John-Kamen. The trailer also introduces several former Fox X-Men actors—Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammer, Rebecca Romijn, Alan Cumming and Channing Tatum—following Disney's acquisition of the franchise. The film is scheduled for release on December 18.
