Five Dead and Suspect Killed in Michigan Shooting Spree

Resumen

Five people were found dead and a 39-year-old suspect died after a police search across two homes and a wooded area in Missaukee County, Michigan.

Police in Missaukee County, Michigan, discovered three fatalities and a critically injured victim at a home shortly before noon on Friday, according to a state police statement. The wounded person was transported to a hospital while the suspect, identified as 39-year-old Chad Hickman, fled the scene.

A subsequent search uncovered a fourth victim at a second residence. Authorities warned the public on X that Hickman was armed and dangerous and urged residents to stay away from the area.

Later, officers located Hickman's vehicle near Whitlock Lake in a wooded area, where they also found his body and that of another deceased individual. The investigation is ongoing, and officials have not disclosed the manner of death or any possible connections among the victims.

"This situation is heartbreaking for the community and challenging for the investigators involved," Lt. Ashley Miller said in a statement, adding that police remain committed to a thorough investigation and will provide updates as new information becomes available.

Police have asked the public to avoid the investigation zones while families are notified.
