Stanford classmates say Gates' startup under investigation for cookie-stuffing
Phoebe Gates' Stanford classmates said she never enrolled in computer-science classes, and her startup Phia was under investigation for alleged cookie- stuffing, according to Page Six. Earlier reporting by The Cut said Bloomberg had found that Phia's founders deliberately implemented software that generated commissions on sales the platform did not actually drive, a practice classified as wire fraud. Gizmodo later noted that Bloomberg’s investigation indicated Gates had known about the cookie- stuffing feature months before the report and had promoted it.
