Dow climbs on inflation surprise as Cisco and Cerebras stocks tumble
On August 13, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose in the United States after an unexpected inflation surprise, while shares of Cisco Systems and AI-chip maker Cerebras fell sharply, Investor's Business Daily reported. Earlier that day, the Dow had also climbed following the release of the consumer price index, and cloud-computing firm CoreWeave saw its stock jump on robust earnings and a highlighted partnership with Nvidia, the same source added.
