Patriots and Eagles wrap up first joint practice with field goal and defensive stops
The New England Patriots concluded their initial joint practice with the Philadelphia Eagles with a 52-yard field goal and defensive stands, while coaches emphasized the need to repeat the effort in the next session.
New England finished its first joint practice against Philadelphia on a positive note, converting a 52-yard field goal in the final two minutes and holding the Eagles scoreless on both of their two-minute attempts. Wide receiver Mack Hollins said the result of one day does not guarantee success the next, adding that the team will review tape to prepare for Thursday’s session.
The Patriots’ passing game, led by quarterback Drake Maye and wide receiver A.J. Brown, connected seven times during the drill, including four completions in 11-on-11 scenarios. Hollins contributed on a short route during the two-minute drill, and kicker Andy Borregales split the uprights on the long field goal.
Defensively, New England stopped the Eagles’ first- and second-offense drives in the two-minute drills, though the unit showed more strength against the pass than the run, which struggled against running back Saquon Barkley. Interior lineman Milton Williams highlighted the execution and communication, noting the importance of replicating the performance in Thursday’s practice.
