Seahawks meet with former Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold as he seeks new team
The Seattle Seahawks hosted a visit with free-agent cornerback Terrion Arnold, who was released by the Detroit Lions and is awaiting trial on felony kidnapping and armed-robbery charges.
Seattle held a meeting with former first-round pick Terrion Arnold on Sunday, the first team to do so after a Florida judge cleared him to travel for NFL visits. Arnold was waived by the Detroit Lions on June 29 and has not been claimed on waivers. He has appeared in 24 games, recording 91 tackles, 18 pass breakups and one interception.
Arnold’s legal case involves multiple felony counts of kidnapping and armed robbery stemming from a February 2026 incident in Tampa Bay. His arraignment is scheduled for August 13. While the charges remain pending, his attorney has said at least three clubs have expressed interest in him.
"We are conducting due diligence," said former Lions defensive coordinator Glenn, referring to his team's inquiry into Arnold.
The Seahawks said the visit was part of their standard evaluation process and did not indicate any immediate contract offer. Arnold is also expected to meet with two additional teams next week, according to NFL reporter Adam Schefter. The NFL could place him on the commissioner's exempt list, which would restrict his ability to play pending the outcome of his case.
